I just made the recipe out of shredded cauliflower noodles and I used half large chunks of sliced mushrooms. My husband, who loved making our own, loved mushrooms but I wanted to keep his passion for mushrooms. I made a marinara sauce and added a little sea salt (or lime). We also wanted to have a little bit of lemon to be added. The marinated mushrooms were cooked a little less than 7 hours, I didn't mind it, but a bit of water would have made it hard to turn them up. It turned out wonderful (we like to cook at 200-300F for both ends).

Serve the mushrooms, sauce, and salt as a side for this super cheesy salad!
