Reed had the idea to take a closer look at some of the bigger fish as far away as New York. As far as the Gulf Shores and other areas he knew, he thought the best fishing spots were around the South and Midwest, and could be found nowhere else near these.

He had the idea to explore the area more in depth, and his exploration of the South Atlantic also paid off. His daughter Elizabeth had started her career fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and he had gotten a great deal of interest from North Carolina, especially in that state.
As his daughter, Elizabeth, took one fishing lesson, one day, she started telling stories of her adventures in the Gulf of Mexico.

"I started making a big fishing trip in December, 2004 when we were in San Salvador. And it never got any bigger," she said. "We thought the Gulf of Mexico was so beautiful that we wanted to take a trip."
